Altri 196 CD Sony infetti

Oltre ad aver immesso sul mercato dei CD contenenti programmi malevoli (quelli targati XCP), Sony BMG ha immesso sul mercato ulteriori 6 milioni di CD affetti da un gravissimo problema di sicurezza, quelli con il software di SunnComm MediaMax e precisamente quelli con la versione 5. La cosa che fa imbestialire è che tale software si installa anche se voi non lo volete sul vostro PC ed anche se avete risposto no ad una esplicita domanda.

La cosa è stata segnalata dalla Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), storica e benemerita associazione che si batte da anni sul fronte dei diritti degli utenti di tecnologia. Questa volta Sony ha risposto subito, rilasciando una nuova versione del software suddetto ma, comicamente, introducendo problemi di sicurezza ancora più gravi.

Noi continuiamo ad essere convinti che il modo migliore di difendersi da tali cialtroni è di non acquistare più CD Sony e, per non sbagliare, di non acquistare più prodotti Sony di alcun genere. E per essere ancora più sicuri, di non acquistare più CD distribuiti dalle major (Sony BMG, Universal, Warner, EMI). Se comunque siete ostinati a farlo, vi consigliamo di dare uno sguardo alla sequente lista per controllare se per caso avete uno dei seguenti CD nella vostra discoteca: in questo caso, non inseritelo nel lettore cd del vostro computer pena una grossa esposizione a rischi di attacchi da parte di virus o malintenzionati.
